Mike Roth, LSSBB

Operational Excellence Director, Go-Lean-Six

Mike is a motivated, results-driven Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. He has trained and mentored many teams, who have consistently improved customer satisfaction by reducing the cost and time to safely produce high quality products and services.  Mike is effective  in partnering with management to solve complex business problems and influence employees toward achievement of organizational goals.

As an integral part of the founding and operation of Go-Lean-Six, Mike believes in their philosophy of continuous improvement through teamwork. As such, he knows what it takes to educate, motivate and empower natural management teams, natural work teams, and special project teams to bring about continuous process improvement in an organization. These value stream transformation teams utilize Lean and Six Sigma principles working to continuously improve the customer-focused metrics of quality, cost, and on-time delivery.

Mike also believes that the road to success starts with one’s customer(s), that employee engagement helps employees own their work and take responsibility for their results, that continuous improvement is a journey (not a destination), and that you must collect data in order to measure, measure in order to improve, and improve in order to be the supplier of choice.

John earned his Management Degree from the University of Cincinnati and has held Operations and Engineering positions at global packaging firms: 20 years with Menasha/Orbis Corporation (where he earned the Menasha Corporation’s Presidential Award for Excellence) as well as five year stints with Graham Engineering and Huhtamaki Americas.  He also has experience in automotive and consumer goods custom manufacturing.

MJW Lean Consulting LLC RECEIVES VETERAN INSTITUTE FOR PROCUREMENT START CERTIFICATION

Dublin Ohio, 10/13/17; MJW Lean Consulting LLC recently completed the Veteran Institute Procurement (VIP) START Program, a comprehensive training and certification program designed for veteran owned businesses that want to enter or expand their business growth into the federal marketplace through best business practices.

On October 5, 2017, MJW Lean Consulting LLC was one of 49 businesses from 19 states and the District of Columbia to graduate from the Veteran Institute for Procurement (VIP) START Program.

“This has to be the most comprehensive and relevant instruction possible.  I had heard positive reports from other small business owners who had taken the training, but it was not until I had the chance to take the classes that I learned how invaluable it is.  And the real ‘winner’ is the taxpayer as the veteran owned small businesses, with a heart to do what’s right and make a difference, get a chance to win contracts with the federal government.”

The first program of its kind in the nation, VIP START is conducted by professional subject-matter specialists in the essentials necessary to win government contracts: law, accounting, insurance, human resources, marketing and proposals. The curriculum is designed to help companies accelerate the rate at becoming procurement ready. The program also provides participants with access to Federal and prime contracting executives along with a national network of veteran-owned small businesses that they can team with on opportunities or serve as mentors.

"We are honored to give back to the men and women who served our country by providing them with the tools necessary to succeed as government contractors." said Barbara Ashe, President of the Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation. “We hope this training fosters their success as businesses and employers.”

VIP START is a three-day, 27-hour comprehensive certification program. Participants must be a C-level executive in a Veteran-owned small business operating for at least 1 year with one year of revenue generation; must be a W-2 in their company, or full time employee, and spend 100% of their time in their business; and a small business. With volunteer instructors and at no cost to participants, VIP START is fully funded by the Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation, partners, and VIP sponsors.
